Excuse me, business is calling.

I’m currently sitting in the Business Lounge at the Frankfurt airport. I just finished watching the Patriot (Mel Gibson can cry with the best of them) and I’m waiting for my flight back to Chicago…I am, in a word, tired.

Exhausted even. (Please imagine that as being said by Snagglepuss…I did)

I’m not really sure why, is it due the 3 flights and 4 trains in 6 days? Is it the jet lag that’s kept me from having a full night’s sleep this entire week? Or was it the far too many beers I had last night which eventually turned it this morning…I don’t know, I’m not a doctor.

Whatever the reason, all I know is I’m tired.

I enjoy traveling, in fact over the past few years I’ve really loved all the places I’ve gotten to see and all the people I’ve gotten to meet….but travel for work can be had.

By the time this trip is over I’ll have taken four flights and four trains in less than a week. I went to Kiev for meetings and back to Cologne to have meetings about those meetings and I had to work with my team back in Chicago and catch up every morning on things that came in well after I was out of the office here.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to travel for work. It’s not something everyone gets to do and it really is a wonderful perk of my job…I wouldn’t change it for the world.

But…in the end, work travel is just that, work. It takes a lot out of you and honestly by the end of it I’m so worn out that going home and sleeping for three days doesn’t seem like a far fetched idea.

I’m looking forward to getting back to Chicago and seeing my friends and Stax and honestly, sleeping in my own bed. I even miss my cats…which should tell you something about how homesick I actually am. (Speaking of, Batman is going to be so pissed when I get back. Stax and I have both been gone for work this week)

I’m a bit sad that Stacey won’t be home when I get there, but honestly it might be nice to have a day to decompress before getting back fully into my routine.

Anyways, that’s all for now. I’ll see you back in Chicago.

I’m an acting/improvising optimizing son of a gun.

I’ve been living and working and performing in Chicago since 2005. I love to eat, travel, talk and make people laugh. So for me this blog stuff is pretty neat.

I also like you. Whoever you are. I like you. For coming to my blog and sharing in my thoughts. I appreciate you. And I think you’re hot. So here’s to you, readers of my blog. Thanks for being awesome. Share and share a like!
