I’m in Cologne again, in fact it’s just after midnight and I’m laying on the pullout couch of the corporate apartment. The couch is in bed form right now…just…I mean I didn’t want you to think that was laying on the couch even though it could be a bed. It’s a bed…a mostly comfortable bed, but a bed none the less.

Phew, off to a good start.

I’m fighting with sleep, even though I need to get up in about 5 hours to shower, go to the train, take the train to Frankfurt, go to the airport and fly to Kiev. For a business trip.

Yeah, I know. A business trip. I mean, who would have thought I’d ever be a businessmen let alone take a business trip to Kiev or Germany. I certainly did not. I mean, when I graduated with a degree in Musical Theater Performance I had no idea what I was going to do with my life and but I certainly didn’t think I’d end up a Client Manager at an e-commerce company.

But I do. A great e-commerce company. Actually, just a great company in general. They’ve given a me lots of opportunities to grow and learn and I’m really grateful for all they’ve done. When I started as a CS rep five years ago I honestly never thought I’d get to where I am today.

Honestly, the last five years have been crazy, marriage, job, travel, acting, talk of babies (don’t get excited, no one is pregnant…or are they?) It’s been nuts.  But kind of awesome. I really couldn’t have asked for a better last five years and I hope that the next five will be even better…or the same, I’m not picky. I mean as long as I have my health and Stax and our cats and a job and a beach house and several vacations a year and a statue of myself with a fountain that everyone throws pennies in…then I’m fine.

Also, the reason this post is called “City of Bites” is because, you guessed it, I eat a lot here. Like a lot a lot. German food is amazing food and should be served everywhere there is beer. If you haven’t eaten German food I urge you to drop what you’re doing right this minute and go out and find some and put it in your face. Seriously. GO. Why are you still reading this.
