Like the sign says, Welcome To Camp!

Let’s start with the basics.

I’m Todd, the guy who will be writing the majority of these posts and this is my life. I mean, not really. This is a blog… but it will chronicle my life. I’ve wanted to start writing a blog for a long time, but never really knew what to focus it on. Everything always came out wrong and in the blog-o-sphere, (I don’t really know what that means) wrong is not good.

Then one night, while laying next to my lovely wife, sandwiched between two cats, she turned to me. Well, she really just turned her head trying to avoid moving any other muscle and awaken the wrath that is Batman from his slumber. (Batman is one of our cats, Lester is the other…more about them in a later post but you can see pictures HERE.)

“Why don’t you just write about your life?” she said.

“My life isn’t that interesting.” I said, my face half buried in my pillow.

“So?” she said?

“You don’t think my life is interesting?” I asked.

“That’s not what I meant” She said.

“Well, what did you mean?” I replied, but the pillow must have muffled it so it came out “You’re mean.”

“You’re mean!”  she snapped back.

“What? No, I asked ‘what did you mean?'”  she then rolled her eyes so hard that I was scared they’d get stuck.

“Write about your life as an actor who got a job as a Client Manager at an e-commerce company and who gets to travel and who is married and who has two annoying cats”

“I could also write about cooking.” I added.

“You could also write about cooking.” she confirmed.

“Cool.” I said

“Cool.” she agreed

Having confirmed that the idea was in fact cool I decided that it was best to get a good night’s sleep before beginning and then promptly neglected the idea for several weeks… until today.

So, that’s it. The Genesis of Camp Garcia in it’s entirety. I am a 28 year old graduate of Columbia College with a degree in Musical Theater Performance. I have a job at an E-commerce company as a Client Manager which gives me perks like a sustainable income and the ability to still act as regularly as I’d like. I love to cook and tell stories and I’m married to an incredible woman who tolerates both of those things (cooking far better than storytelling).

I also have two cats…which…yeah…I have two cats.

This is my life, and I’m pretty excited about it.
